Chalets in La Plagne
High-altitude Paradiski resort of linked villages, made for families and confident intermediates
About Chalets in La Plagne
La Plagne is one of the largest and most family-friendly ski resorts in the French Alps, a family of villages spread across the Tarentaise slopes between 1,250m and 2,100m. It forms half of the Paradiski area, linked to Les Arcs by the double-decker Vanoise Express cable car, which puts 425km of pistes and the Bellecôte glacier within reach of every village. Wide, sunny, confidence-building runs make it a favourite with beginners and intermediates, while the Olympic bobsleigh track from the 1992 Albertville Games adds a memorable thrill off the snow.
Each village has its own character, from the ski-in ski-out convenience of the high, purpose-built centres such as Plagne Centre and Belle Plagne to the traditional charm of Montchavin, Les Coches and Champagny-en-Vanoise lower down. Transfers take around two and a half to three hours from Geneva or Lyon, and direct trains from Paris reach Aime-La Plagne station at the foot of the resort. Whether you want a compact apartment for a short break or a spacious catered chalet for a week with the family, La Plagne offers a wide choice of chalets and lodges.
