About Chalets in Les Gets

Les Gets is a traditional Savoyard village at 1,172m in the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest linked ski areas in the world with around 600km of pistes across France and Switzerland. The village sits between two ski mountains: the Chavannes side connects over the Pléney to Morzine, so the two resorts share their local slopes, while Mont Chéry on the opposite side is quieter and keeps its snow well. Wide, tree-lined runs and a gentle pace make Les Gets a favourite with families, and it holds the French Famille Plus label for its childcare, ski schools and beginner areas.

The village centre is a real, year-round community of wooden chalets, bakeries and restaurants rather than a purpose-built base, with the Lac des Écoles for summer swimming and a well-known bike park that draws mountain-bike World Cup racing every year. Geneva airport is about 75 minutes away by road, one of the shortest transfers to any major French resort, which makes Les Gets a practical choice for short breaks as well as full weeks. Chalets here range from catered and hosted properties on the slopes to self-catered apartments a short walk from the lifts.
